About Me

My photo
I am a Mom, Wife and Daughter. Say road trip and I am all ready in the car. I do love to stay home too. I am either reading, sewing, crocheting, doing something with paper or taking care of my family at any given moment.

Like a Tarot reading or just some random Scrabble tiles?

Were these Scrabble tiles thrown out into the snow for me to find this Spring as a message from above.... Or are they merely Scrabble tiles that I will clean up, decoupage, drill a hole through and hang from a ribbon???

Look what someone threw out today!

I can't believe how wasteful some people are.

Rummage Sale Finds from this morning

A lovely way to spend a rainy spring morning. This sale was past the GM Proving Grounds and the camouflaged cars going past added an air of intrigue to the outing!!!!

The first year the rabbits haven't eaten the bulbs in our yard

Just some bright bits of color in our front yard!

Father and Daughter

My husband and daughter enjoying a sunny afternoon. Thursday March 18, 2010

Can you believe what someone threw out?

I switched out the pine cones and red Shiny Brite ornaments for sea shells and drift wood for summer. The glass pieces from the trash match the curtains in this window perfectly! It takes such small things to make me smile.

These are pictures of the whole haul. I had to walk home and get the car there was so much. Most is now on consignment at the resale store!!! I kept the tea pot and the glass vases.

Early Spring is more a sound than sight or smell

This juniper bush is in the "circle" in front of our house. It is FILLED with birds. The flapping and chirping was astonishing!

The snow melt running to the Huron River

As my daughter and I were walking on Wednesday I realized that it was noisy... A wonderful kind of noisy that contrasts to Winter's quiet. There were all sorts of bird noises and the sound of running water from the snow melt. Even the noises of everyday life (can't escape that) are louder without the blanket of snow. The wind was blowing and folks in my neighborhood have started putting out their yard decor and there were many wind chimes tinkling too. Winter is by no means gone here in Michigan but Spring is around the corner... I can hear it.

Spring is on the way

Here is the pond I have been taking snowy icy pictures of all winter. It is beginning to melt!

I am really loving these red blossoms!

It is easy to believe on a day like today that Spring has arrived. Here in Michigan Winter doesn't give up that easily though. I'll enjoy what we get no matter what. The birds are singing the sun is out, I walked with only a denim jacket instead of scarf, gloves, hat and coat and the tornado warning siren went off!!! It takes you by surprise that first test of the season!!! You have to stop and think...It's the first Saturday of the month and it is 1:00 in the afternoon...

Stephanie's 25th Birthday

How incredible to think she has made it this far.

Retail therapy on a sunny Winter day in Michigan

Nothing like some new fabric on a sunny day to chase the Winter blues away!!

Spring is on the way

The witch hazel is budding out in our front yard even though it is still buried in the snow.

The day lilies are starting to peek out from the ground in front of the house.

Here are some budding trees I saw on my walk to the post office this morning.
