Extreme Cage Fighting Cat Style Part 3

A one year old won this round!!! My daughter is a nanny for two sweet boys. The youngest likes the cube....The oldest likes to have his photo taken. Both of them together scare the cats... Just by walking in the door.

Extreme Cage Fighting Cat Style

My husband brought this cube home one Friday. The boys loved it. So much in fact they fought over it. The next Friday he brought a second one home. The boys don't like that one. They get in this cube and fight over it. I find it in the oddest places. This is Cadillac after winning a round.

How do the deer know?

For half the year this is a pond filled with geese, ducks and egrets. How do the deer know that it is a short cut when frozen over? How do they know when the ice is too thin to walk on? I can just picture them pushing the little guy forward "you go first if you fall through the ice we'll know Spring is here"!!!

Robins and Spring

My Aunt Margaret had a tradition on her farm in Illinois. When the last Robin left in the Fall she would take out her beautiful china Robin and put it in the window till she saw the first robin of Spring. Growing up in Los Angeles I really didn't appreciate the significance, now having lived in Michigan for ten years I do. I have my own little robin now. Spring is just around the corner isn't it?

Before and After... A Snow Story in Pictures

My car and the driveway (It really needs some work)

Our little plum tree and the houses across the street

The quince bushes in front of our house... You can see the snow is starting to fall

Looking North to the green slace behind our house

This is our back yard looking East

In the summer this is our waterfall and pond

A Reduce Reuse Recycle Rant

I was walking today, trash day here and I see in a trash can folded up cardboard boxes with the U-Haul brand name on them... These are good sturdy useful cardboard boxes.... On them under the brand name it says "Do Not Reuse, Put In TRASH"????? Not even the suggestion of the recycle bin let alone a reason for not reusing... Except that if you reuse these boxes you won't purchase more form U-Haul. Maybe these were really old boxes but really was tossing them ever a good idea??

An Unfinished Christmas

I started out the Holiday Season with the best intentions and rare of late energy. I did get some things done. Not much. Here are the beautiful cards I just finished and plan to use next year. (Now I really am ahead of the game). Also here is how far I have gotten on my daughter's afghan. It is going to look so perfect on her sofa. I promised that it would be done before Spring. My Grand-Mother-In-Law made granny square stockings for the girls each of their first Christmas's. I was supposed to have two made this year, I finished one. I will have the second one done before Halloween (I keep telling myself). Still and all better than I have done the last few years.

Big Green Purse book review

I found this book on clearance at Borders last weekend. It is a guide to buying green not necessarily saving money but making what money you spend count for the future. So far my favorite idea is "before SUV's we got along fine on SNOW TIRES!!!" So true! I do shop green for most things but can do a lot better.
