About Me

My photo
I am a Mom, Wife and Daughter. Say road trip and I am all ready in the car. I do love to stay home too. I am either reading, sewing, crocheting, doing something with paper or taking care of my family at any given moment.

Not something you would normally see on a walk on the trail

This ultra light was skimming the trees as we walked on the trail this morning. It distracted me enough that the baby muskrat that I intended to take a picture of slipped into the water undetected!

Memorial Day Weekend In Our Little DownTown

There will be a parade to the cemetery and lots of BBQs. Downtown though will be quiet except for the wind rippling the flags. Enjoy the weekend and remember the Men and Women who have given so much for us.

How Great Do These Concrete Pots Look Planted?!!

My husband wasn't too happy with these big HEAVY things yesterday when He had to mow around them... Hopefully he'll like them all planted up. I think they look great!

Look what they threw out this week

These 3 cement planters weigh a ton. I managed to get them in the car and then into the driveway OK but couldn't lift them again. I may never be able to lift again. My daughter's boyfriend lined them up in the back yard for me. They are stunning! Can't wait to plant them.

Professional cookbooks. I am donating them to the library.

Ready for a hot Spring day in the Midwest!

Gaela is waiting for her boyfriend to finish his job hunt so they can go to the Detroit Zoo on this lovely day!

Dress is from Salvation Army
Sweater from a bag of hand me downs that made the rounds

A better bird story for today

Walking along the trail yesterday the goose family was out for brunch... It was a lovely day and there was many people on the trail. Mom and Dad had their beaks full keeping the kids in line and keeping the people away from the family. Much hissing and they actually stomp their feet!

Day six is also the end.

I got up this morning and went outside to check on the baby robins and the nest had been knocked down and the poor babies had perished. Momma and Daddy are off to try again somewhere else. I am so very sad and disappointed. I had become very attached.

Look what I found on my walk today

It was trash day today so I found lots of stuff.. The pine cones are for a project I am working on...the tray they are in is a bird bath/feeder. There are 2 really nice pots and a cute little mini wood bench that is going to look good with potted plants on it. The dishes were all found in one spot. The ones on the carpet are what I or my daughter are keeping. The ones in the box are going to the Salvation Army. What a good Monday... A lovely walk as well.. A little over 3 miles with my Mom who is visiting from California and my daughter Stephanie who is home from school sick.

Day 4 at the Nest

The little guys are starting to take shape. Momma doesn't fly far.. They chose a good nesting spot. Our compost pile is in sight of the nest, up the hill and full of worms!

Momma can't fit in the nest anymore. When I walked up today all I could see above the rim of the nest were open beaks.

Days 2 and 3 In The Life Of The Just Hatched

Really a miracle of nature!!

Looks only a Mother could love.

I came out to check the nest and Momma flew just far enough to get a good run at me. I snapped a nice picture of the side of the garage as I ran. May 15, 2010

The Parents were away when I went out this morning. I snapped off a couple before Momma came back screeching!!! I ran for cover. May 16th 2010.

The babies hatched

Baby birds are not the most attractive things in the world but they are a miracle all the same!

Sometime during the rains yesterday the baby robins hatched. Momma Robin was not too happy with me sticking the camera over her babies.

Look what the trash yielded today!

I had to go home and get the car for these items. I Love the cement stand! I am not sure what to make from the chicken wire but something will come to me. Hopefully my husband will like the cherubs as much as I do!
