I know this is an electrical supply....Wires run through the wire mesh into an electrical box that the base is attached to. I need to know what it is called so my friend and I can order them in quantity for table decorations....... Taking the industrial flavor a bit further we could add a place card with an alligator clip....

 The back yard just keeps getting lusher....

The winter hardy hibiscus has finally bloomed.....

 The local flower stand had a closeout sale over the weekend where I got a flat of perennials just for fun.....Some are all ready planted a few are still waiting their forever home in our back yard.

Free Concert Thursday

No concert today.....Art Fairs in Ann Arbor have taken over.....We wouldn't have been able to go anyway since it was too hot and humid and I was here with Elizabeth while she had her appendix out.

Our "backyard" since Saturday has been this view from the fifth floor of the University of Michigan Hospital.......Hopefully next Wednesday we will be back to our REAL back yard!!

Avian Trauma Center

I can not even describe how blazing hot it is today. This poor bird flew into our front window and landed panting in the full sun on the front porch. Gaela and I tried to figure out how to get him out of the sun. First I brought out the small bowl of water and imagine our surprise when the poor guy hopped into the dish. We got out the roasting pan next thinking he'd like something roomier. He preferred the kiddy pool. We held the blanket up for a while until we got overheated and draped it over the porch rail and moved the whole operation over so we could go inside and let him calm down.

Cadillac thought we were having bird stew for dinner....He was most disappointed when the bird flew off......

Thursday's Free Concert

Stephanie Gaela and I went to Sonic Lunch in Ann Arbor today.....This week's band was Family of the Year.....They were fabulous! The weather was perfect! Stephanie had a good time and so did Gaela and I!!!
